We are looking for a communications officer for our Marine Protected Areas Project.

THE ROLE  

This position offers an unprecedented opportunity to lead a communications campaign which aims to secure a well-protected, ecologically coherent network of marine protected areas, including highly protected sites, in Irish waters.

The role will require guiding, supporting and facilitating the project’s coalition members in the design and implementation of a winning communications strategy. This will also include overseeing the day-to-day communications activities, social media management, and PR.

As the Communications Officer, you will have experience of developing and implementing successful communication strategies. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be comfortable engaging with a range of external audiences including the public, elected representatives, media, etc.

You will be comfortable working both with coalition partners and independently, delivering on the agreed objectives and strategy. You will work closely with the Campaign Project Manager to produce winning communication campaigns to highlight the importance of well managed Marine Protected Areas. In this role, you will leverage the expertise of all partners to develop a strong content management plan, manage internal communications and achieve our outreach and engagement objectives.
